The Town of Jamestown seeks a firm with the requisite education, experience, and qualified construction inspector(s) to enter into a Contract for inspection of work by private contractors constructing: various utilities, such as: water lines and appurtenances; sewer lines and manholes; and stormwater lines and stormwater structures; grading to approved plans; and roadway construction, including: excavation and compaction; subgrade compaction; proof rolls; ABC installation; and curb and gutter installation. Responsibilities include: observation of earthmoving and geotechnical testing; inspection of water, sewer, and storm drainage pipe installation; inspection of utility structures; and visual inspection of clearing limits, buffers, and erosion control devices. Geotechnical testing will be performed by independent testing companies.
Ideal candidates will have experience inspecting roadway and utility improvements, are familiar with Town of Jamestown Technical Standards, and have the ability to read construction plans; communicate with the contractor/engineer/owner; and keep construction records. The inspector will generally need to be onsite when the contractor(s) are onsite working, so workdays up to 12 hours and overtime should be anticipated.

The Town of Jamestown seeks to enter into a Contract for the design and installation of a new playground at Jamestown Park. Funding for this project is through the State’s Accessibility for Parks (AFP) and American Rescue Program Act (ARPA). Sealed bid proposals will be received until 10:00 a.m. on September 12, 2024. A site visit is required to bid on this project and instructions are included in the RFP.
