Town Manager

The Town of Jamestown is organized as a Council-Manager form of government. The Town Manager is appointed by the Town Council and serves at the pleasure of the Governing Board. (G. S. 160A-147) The Town Manager is the chief administrator of the Town. The Manager’s core responsibility is to the Council for administering all municipal affairs placed in his charge by the Governing Board. (G.S. 160A-148)

Town Clerk

G. S. 160A-171 states that there shall be a Town Clerk who shall give notice of meetings of the Council, keep a journal of the proceedings of the Council, is the custodian of all town records, and shall perform any other duties that may be required by law or the Council. The Town Clerk prepares ordinances, legal notices and communicates with the public on town activities and procedures. The Clerk also assists the Town Manager with a variety of project management tasks.
