The Town of Jamestown Planning / Zoning Enforcement Department provides design guidance, zoning enforcement, reviews zoning and subdivision applications, and shapes public policy related to growth and development. We are committed to proactive, community-based planning founded on public participation, and to the building of livable, sustainable communities.
The mission of the Planning Department is to provide education, information, recommendation, and leadership products to citizens of Jamestown so they can enjoy a quality of life enriched by choices in housing and transportation, efficient use of public infrastructure, distinctive community character, and a robust civic life.

Public Hearings
Public hearings are changes to zoning or the ordinance that require an opportunity for the Public to speak. Members of the public each have 3 minutes to speak and must first state their name and address. There is no need to sign up ahead of time for public hearings. Current agendas can be found on the Meeting Minutes and Schedules page.
Code Enforcement
The Town of Jamestown contracts with Alliance Code Enforcment (ACE) to investigate potential code enforcement violations. These violations range from junked vehicles, tall grass, minimum housing violations, and everything in between. If you receive a letter from Alliance Code Enforcement, please call the number provided to speak with Jeff Poindexter or contact him via email at: jeff@alliancecodeenforcement.com.
