Meeting Minutes & Schedules

The Town of Jamestown is governed by a 5-member Board consisting of Mayor and 4 council members. Town Council meetings are regularly held the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Town Hall, located at 301 E. Main Street, Jamestown, NC. Meeting times and agendas are typically posted on the Town’s web site on the Friday which precedes each Board meeting. Per General Statutes 143-318.10, all official meetings of the public body are open to the public with certain exceptions.

Addressing the Governing Board

Persons wanting to publicly address the Governing Board may request to do so by registering prior to the regular monthly meeting with the Town Clerk by calling 336.454.1138 before 5:00 p.m. or at the meeting site 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting. A maximum of three minutes is granted to each speaker, with a total of 15 minutes designated at the beginning of the meeting and 15 minutes at the end for comments.

The time allotted for each session of Public Comment will be 15 minutes. The Board can choose to extend the time for public comment, by a majority vote, an additional 15 minutes; for a maximum time limit of 30 minutes each session for public comments. Individuals, who sign up but cannot speak because of time constraints, will be carried to the next regular meeting of the Town Council and placed first on the public comments agenda.
